Lass uns spielen

Haha! What's happening, cutie? I'm the former Kingdom of Prussia. I know you've heard of me. But as you are a beautiful creature before me, you may call me Gilbert Beilschmidt. Gil for short, of course. Hey, don't be shy, now!
Let's play a game, ja?

((I'm part of a RP group elsewhere, but a friend convinced me to join tumblr. I'll try to be active on here!))

“Sh-shut up! I’m coming, you pretentious jerk!” she shouted, yanking off her shoes. At least she knew how to swim. Groaning, she checked again to see if anyone was on the other side of the canal because standing up. The girl took a deep breath, although she kept gasping on and off, and finally drove herself to leap off the sidewalk. Gemma plunged deep into the water, somewhat shocked by its horrifically freezing temperatures and swam up, splashing about the surface.

“Gilbert? Gil, where are you?” she cried out, twisting and turning her neck to search for him.

“Oi!” He hollered, waving one arm lazily as he clung to the wall. “Open your fucking eyes once in a while!”

“I’m about five seconds from climbing back to safety and leaving your sorry behind to drown…” she huffed, swimming over to him. As he wrapped his arms around her, she struggled with his weight. “Oh my god. Gilbert, lose some weight! You’re the reason we can’t have nice things. You and your belly fat.”

"J’st get me out of here or I’ll drag us both down," he replied lazily, feeling too tired to argue with her.

She remained silent. Trudging back to their beginning point of the night with a death-grip around his wrist, she stopped in bewilderment. “Um… where’s the car?”

“Great job, kid! Now we’re stranded in the city.”

“Shut your mouth before I slap your face off!” She growled, then tried to recall earlier. “I know I parked here… I guess we’ll have to call brother for a ride?”

“Hell no! He’ll just yell at me the entire rest of the week about how I wasn’t careful or whatever. Let’s just try going down the other street…” He shuffled away, his hands shoved into his pockets. “We still have a few hours to get home, anyway. A few fires isn’t gonna stop me!”

“Don’t say things like that so loudly, you unsympathetic blockhead! People could’ve been injured.” Gemma rolled her eyes, but lightened up when she saw a canal just ahead. Racing forward, she hopped onto the ledge and began to walk on it.

“But I suppose your right. It was just an accident.”

Gilbert jumped in front of her and looked down. “Ah well. Can’t change that, can we? Damn!” He wobbled, stretching out his arms. “This is sort of hard…”

“Hah! I’ve been doing this my whole life,” she purred, quickly stepping around him. She turned and walked backwards, winking. “It’s called being graceful. Or just well-balanced.”

“Hey! How did you do that?” He pouted, still leaning from side to side. “You stupid girls. You just have small feet, alright?”

“Whatever you want to believe…” The sound of gunfire quickly cut her off, and she yelped, stumbling back onto the pavement as the bullet flew right by her face.

Meanwhile, Prussia wasn’t paying much attention to begin with, and was caught completely off guard by the bullet. He jumped and tripped over his legs, trying to feel for something to grab onto with his hands before he fell, but they only cut through the air. “G-Gemma!” he cried before falling completely off the ledge into the cold waters below.

“Gil!” she called back, her voice cracking. Crawling forward, she brought herself to look over into the canal, but she couldn’t spot him anywhere. Another bullet flew by, hitting the wall of the building behind her. Ducking for safety behind the small wall, she weighed her options. Try to find help or go in after him somehow. But either way, she risked getting shot. Carefully peering across the water, she couldn’t see anyone on the other side. So who had the gun?

“I-I’m coming, Prussia…!” she whispered hoarsely, tightening her jaw.

Being pummeled by the surprisingly fast current waves, Gilbert struggled to keep his head above the surface, but to no avail. He should’ve taken those fucking swimming lessons a while ago, after he stopped practicing. Finally, he fought to bring himself up and coughed out the water swishing through his mouth. “Gem! I can’t—” he went under for a moment, then came back up, hacking violently. “H-help!”

“… You’re so disturbing. I hope you know that,” she said bluntly, stepping away from him.

“Speaking of disturbing and crazy stuff, what’s going on?” Gilbert questioned as a loud screech came from around the corner, following by more panicked voices shouting and people beginning to run away or whip out their cell phones, staring at something out of Gil’s sight.

Gemma casually stepped out of the way for people to run past her. “No clue. Let’s check it out?” she offered, turning the corner to see what the commotion was about.

He nodded and followed, his blood red eyes widening as he saw that, just down the road, there was a building on fire. “Holy shit… I wonder what happened?” He watched as the firefighters scrambled around, preparing to extinguish the fire. “I hope nobody was hurt.”

The girl nodded absently, biting her lip. “That’s coincidental, though…” she commented somberly.

“Maybe we jinxed it.” Prussia ran a hand through his snow-white hair and sighed, then something caught his eye. The flicker of a light just the large building a few feet away. He furrowed his brows and squinted, trying to see what it was through the window.

Suddenly the light grew bigger and people were running out the door, adding to the chaos. “Sh-shit! Another fire! Back away!”

Gemma jumped back onto the sidewalk, then she took Gilbert’s arm and led him away. “M-maybe we should go home. I don’t think it’s safe to be here, anymore.”

“You aren’t seriously suggesting arson, are you?”

Gilbert stuck out his tongue, but took her advice and walked oh-so-casually to the next house, looking disinterested. He knocked on the door and held out his bag to the owner.

“Ay! Trick or treat, baby. Mind if I get a little something extra?” He asked provocatively upon realizing it was another young woman, in her early twenties.

Gemma snorted in contempt as the two began to flirt and she wound up hooking her arm around Gilbert’s, dragging him down the sidewalk.

“I said redeem yourself, not go around trying to pick up every girl you see!” she growled, letting him go once they were out of the girl’s view. “Now, seriously, behave or I’ll chop you into bits and pieces and give it out as candy!”

“As delicious as I am, I don’t think people want Albino-flavored candy. That’s just a little too weird…” He glanced back, pouting. “I was really getting somewhere with her, too! Damn you woman.”

An amused smile playing on her lips, she turned to him. “I believe the correct term would be… what is it. ‘Cockblock?’”

Gilbert turned bright red. “D-don’t say that ever again! You’re too young!”

“There are worse things I could say! Besides, I learned it from you. Maybe next time you’ll watch your mouth?”

He was about to retaliate when he heard a suspicious shuffle behind them. He glanced over his shoulder to see someone’s heel disappearing into the alleyway they just passed.

“Huh? What a fucking creep. Unless it’s just some hobo.”

“Are you done degrading others just because they’re not as well off as you are?” Gemma snapped, turning to look at who he was talking about. “Although that’s a little weird and unsafe. They ought to have someone with them. Crazy things happen on Halloween.”

“Yeah! People die and shit. But mainly, we just get candy. I mean, a whole night just for getting candy. How fucking awesome is that?!”
